Introducing Abby Ilardi!

We are happy to announce that Abby Ilardi is bringing a new class to Bluestem this fall!

Who is Abby?  In her own words…

I became a yoga instructor when I was 19 years old after experiencing just how transformational yoga was in my own life. At the time, I was an extreme type-A perfectionist—constantly stressed, overly hard on myself, and running myself ragged. Yoga transformed my relationship with myself, teaching me to meet myself with compassion, presence, and acceptance. I went from struggling to be alone with my thoughts to genuinely valuing silence and stillness.

My curiosity about the mind-body connection led me to become a professional counselor and somatic therapist, deepening my understanding of how we can heal and grow through both movement and stillness. Now I weave those worlds together—bringing yoga into my therapy practice, and my therapy and somatic knowledge into trauma-informed yoga classes sequenced with the nervous system in mind.

I’m also inspired by my background in music and the performing arts. You’ll notice that my classes use rhythm, pacing, and music intentionally to help regulate the nervous system, shift your energy, and create a rich sensory experience. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and inspired—whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or simply a deeper connection with yourself.

Now that you know a little about Abby, you can see how special the new Somatic Flow class is going to be!

 ————————————————————————————————-

Somatic Flow (Vin-Yin)

Flow from motion into deep rest. We open with an upbeat, rhythm-based vinyasa—feel-good movements set to music that help you build strength and shake off the day’s stress. Midway, the tempo softens into Yin and restorative shapes, where props and mindful cues invite your nervous system into true rest-and-digest mode.

“Somatic” simply means listening to your body. You’ll be encouraged to notice what feels good, adjust or skip poses as needed, and let sensation—not appearance—lead the way. Class is trauma-informed and highly customizable, emphasizing presence over perfection, making this class wonderful for all levels. Leave feeling open, grounded, and restored.

 Mondays, 5:30 – 6:30pm, starting Sept 8.
